Travel NICU Registered Nurse - $1,796 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit position in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to sick and premature infants
• Assist in providing round-the-clock care alongside the rest of the care team
• Provide emotional encouragement and support to parents
• Advise parents on proper care of their infant when they return home
• Care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life
• Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary
• Provide nutritional assessment and specialized feedings
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Provide arterial and intravenous therapy
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, such as incubators and ventilators

Requirements

• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• STABLE certification
• 2 years of experience
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 10-20 pounds of equipment at times

Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
