About the role
An exciting opportunity awaits as you start your career on a specialized neurological unit. This is an excellent unit to learn about various neurological diseases while utilizing your nursing and critical thinking skills. Work with our interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment caring for patients with stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Syndrome, and more. As a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitor Unit in the region, we see many acute and complex patients. Join our specialty team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures using state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that values nurses' skills, talents, and compassion for our patient population.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological conditions
- Utilize telemetry and critical care skills to monitor patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Utilize advanced technology for the evaluation and treatment of neurological disorders
- Educate patients and families about care plans and disease processes
Requirements
- RN License (New York ONLY)
- Two (2) years of nursing experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Telemetry experience is required
- NIHSS certification
Schedule
- 17-week contract
- 36 hours per week
- Rotating shift schedule: 3x12.0 (blocked weekends)
