Requirements

• RN license in Maryland or a compact RN license
• 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Neurology experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications
• Basic EKG testing
• Maryland-approved trauma education
• 8hrs annual stroke CEs
• 4hrs trauma-related CEs
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke, neuro/neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, feeding-tube care, pre/post-hemodialysis, renal failure, surgical drain, wound care, oxygen administration, PPE
• Cerner charting system
• Navy blue scrubs

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for patients on a Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5
• Monitor neurologic status using bedside EEG, telemetry, and bladder scanning
• Float between units within scope as needed based on hospital requirements
• Manage complex diagnoses including CVA, epilepsy, post-surgical patients, and trauma cases
• Ensure safety and quality care while adhering to hospital protocols and certifications
