Job Summary

Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) nurse opportunity located in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. This role involves providing specialized critical care for patients with neurological conditions across various intensive care units within a Level I trauma designated medical center. The position requires adaptability to float between units and the ability to meet the clinical demands of a tertiary quaternary academic healthcare environment.

Schedule

  • Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Active, unencumbered Hawaii registered nurse (RN) license required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Healthcare Provider (HCP) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
  • Licenses and certifications must be current and valid through the duration of the contract.
  • Candidate must pass an EKG exam with a score of 80% or higher during orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or equivalent, Advanced Trauma Care Nursing (ATCN).
  • Experience in intensive care units with neuro specialization preferred.
  • Experience in mixed Medical/Surgical ICU and/or specialty neuro ICUs is advantageous.
  • Prior ICU float pool experience and experience working within the healthcare systems ICU teams are highly desirable.

Experience

  • Three or more years of ICU Staff Registered Nurse experience excluding travel assignments in large tertiary/quaternary, Level 1 trauma centers.
  • Previous neuro ICU experience is preferred.

Additional Information

  • All candidates must complete all elements of compliance and upload documentation to the Medefis portal at least 10 days before the start date to ensure timely onboarding.
  • Candidates may be assigned to roles such as nursing assistant or safety sitter if not needed as an RN on their primary unit.
  • Travelers are expected to float based on operational needs.
  • Limited RTO may be approved after 30 days on assignment.
