Travel Neuro ICU RN - $2,125 per week

Job Summary

Intensive Care Unit Neurological specialty nurse opportunity in Phoenix, Arizona. The position involves working in a Level 1 Trauma ICU with a focus on neuro admissions, including brain surgeries, tumor removals, and spinal procedures. The role requires strong neuro assessment skills and experience with intracranial pressure monitoring, providing critical care to neurologically complex patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to neurologically complex patients in a Level 1 Trauma ICU
• Perform neuro assessments and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
• Maintain sterile field management
• Handle lifts, restraints, and wound care as part of skills assessment
• Float between all ICU floors and all telemetry units (patient load of 4:1 on telemetry)
• Available for standby shifts
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as part of core staff
• Handle neuro diagnoses, craniotomies, brain tumor procedures, ablations, spinal surgeries, and scoliosis repairs

Required Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience in a large (450+) Level 1 Trauma unit
• Neuro ICU experience with strong neuro assessment skills
• ICP monitoring experience
• Valid license to submit and willingness to wait for license verification

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel experience of 3 to 6 months
• Experience with neuro-specific procedures: ICP monitoring, sterile field management, and neuro assessments

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Available for standby
• Floating between ICU units and neuro floors
• Floor-specific orientation includes two shifts on the unit

• Scrub color: any non-offensive print or color; steel gray preferred for neuro floors
• Vents and RT available 24/7
• Pharmacy services available 24/7
• Hospital can cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment
• Float required between all ICU floors and all telemetry units
