About the role

This is a 13-week night-shift assignment at an acute-care hospital in New Haven, CT. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center with 511 beds and uses the Epic charting system.

Responsibilities

• Manage BiPAP/CPAP devices
• Administer blood products
• Provide central line care and management
• Manage chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Perform continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Care for and manage feeding tubes
• Follow heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias
• Implement isolation precautions and PPE
• Manage dysrhythmias
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula and tanks
• Care for peripheral and PICC lines
• Provide pre/post hemodialysis management
• Perform tracheostomy care and management
• Manage substance withdrawal
• Monitor telemetry (unit-based)
• Titrate insulin drips
• Manage TR bands
• Activate and work with rapid response/code teams
• Provide wound care and manage wound vacs

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Active CT license or compact license
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Skills

Proficiency in the clinical skills listed under Responsibilities is required.

Pay

$2,247 to $2,444 weekly, including taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements.

Schedule

Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 19:00 to 07:00.
