About the role

This is a 20-week assignment with night shifts (3x 12-hour shifts, 19:00 - 05:00) at an acute care hospital with 218 beds. Patient ratios are 6:1 on nights and 4 weekends per assignment. Charting is done via Epic.

Responsibilities & Skills

• Administration of blood & blood products
• Antibiotics and antiemetics
• Body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
• Central line blood draw and care (including implanted/PICC lines)
• Colostomy/ileostomy management and care
• Corticosteroid administration
• Foley catheter insertion and management
• Inpatient oncology care
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Isolation precautions and PPE
• Administration of coagulation factors
• Advanced directives and hospice care
• Management of skin and mucous membrane alterations
• Care for patients with altered mental status or anaphylaxis
• Antifungal and antiviral administration
• Port care and management
• Management of constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, and hemorrhage
• Infusion pump and PCA pump management
• Intravenous hydration/multivitamins and IV push narcotic agents
• Medication tolerance/dependence assessment
• Management of nausea/vomiting and neuropathy
• Radiation safety precautions
• Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
• Neupogen administration and neutropenic precautions
• Patient and family education and support
• Post-surgical care and sepsis management
• Transdermal patch administration
• Withholding/withdrawing treatment
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Wound care

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
• BLS and NIHSS certifications
• MD state license or Compact License
• Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred

Pay

$2,098 to $2,269 weekly, including taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements.
