Job Description
The MRI Technician will perform high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and adherence to established imaging protocols. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of MRI experience, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a clinical environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately while ensuring comfort and safety throughout examinations.
- Operate MRI equipment effectively and maintain high standards of image quality.
- Review patient history, assess contraindications, and ensure MRI safety screening is completed prior to procedures.
- Apply critical thinking and sound judgment when evaluating patient needs and adapting imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow regulatory and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare team members.
- Iinterpret and follow written instructions, policies, and imaging protocols.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, for documentation and administrative tasks.
- Work independently while managing workflow and prioritizing exams efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
- Current New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist (RT) License.
- MRI Certification (MR Certified).
- Current BLS Certification.
- 1–3 years of experience as an MRI Technician.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
