About the Role

We currently have a client in Butte, MT looking for a Licensed MRI Technologist! Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic MRI Technologist who is willing to support a friendly, positive, and professional environment. This is a contract assignment for 13 weeks with a shift of 3x12 nights.

Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images (photographs) of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform related technological functions under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coil close to area of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices, keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and photographing images.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, addressing patient concerns with a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, alerting staff of metal dangers, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of regular (twenty (20) hours or more per week) continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II.
  • License in the required state.
  • BLS certification.
  • Fully proficient in MRI with knowledge of required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to learn relevant applications.
  • Two years of hospital experience in a clinical area; EP preferred.

Pay

Pay depends on location and experience, with tax-free stipend amounts to be determined based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week.
