Travel MRI Tech - $2,032 per week

About the role

We currently have a client in Edmonds, WA looking for a Licensed MRI Technologist. Focus Staff is seeking an MRI Technologist who is highly motivated and energetic. Candidates must be willing to support a friendly, positive, and professional environment. This is a 13‑week contract assignment (temporary) with a 3x12 night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes.
• Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
• Perform patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
• Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and keying in data on the camera keyboard to photograph images.
• Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, address concerns, and exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Ensure patient and staff safety, including explaining safety protocols, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, alerting staff of danger or carrying metal around the magnet, and monitoring patients via closed‑circuit TV.
• Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of regular (20+ hours per week) continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist and full proficiency in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II.
• Active license in the required state (Washington).
• Current BLS certification.
• Full proficiency in MRI and knowledge of required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other organization members.
• Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
• Two years of hospital experience in a clinical area; EP (electrophysiology) experience preferred.

Pay

Pay depends on location and experience. The pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
