Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Butte, Montana.

About the Role

This is a temporary contract position with a duration of 12 weeks, starting on 08/10/2026. The role requires 36 hours per week on a 12-hour evening shift.

Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocols, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment to ensure quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and photographing images.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, address concerns, and exhibit tact, courtesy, and poise.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.
  • Perform related technological functions under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and Imaging Services Director, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality and efficient processes.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of regular (20+ hours per week) continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II.
  • Active license in the required state.
  • BLS certification.
  • Fully proficient in MRI with knowledge of required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • Two years of hospital experience in a clinical area (EP preferred).
  • Compassionate, sensitive, and able to act quickly in emergencies.

Pay

Pay depends on location and experience, with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. The pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week.
