Registered Nurse - Maternity Unit Assignment
Duration: This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule NOC Shift: 19:00 – 07:30, 3 × 12 hr shifts per week (36 hours/week).
Job Description
The Maternity Unit is a family-centered, multidisciplinary care area dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout the childbirth experience. The unit offers high-quality antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care while promoting patient safety, education, and positive birth experiences. Through collaboration among nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff, the team is committed to delivering exceptional care that supports the physical, emotional, and educational needs of every family.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient care.
- Monitor and care for patients in labor, delivering safe and supportive experiences.
- Engage in patient education and support families throughout their childbirth journey.
- Floate to Labor & Delivery and NICU as needed.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of RN experience, specifically in maternity care.
- Experience with postpartum care, baby care, and antepartum monitoring.
- BLS and NRP certifications are required; fetal monitoring experience is necessary (certification not required).
- Ability to work at least 1-2 weekends per month; no holiday shifts required.
- Familiarity with a diverse urban population and cultural competency.
