About the role
Medical Surgical with Telemetry Nurse position available in Des Moines, Iowa. The role involves providing high-quality patient care for adult patients in various surgical and telemetry units. Candidates must be adaptable to a rotating shift schedule and prepared to handle a diverse patient population requiring overnight stays.
The unit has a bed size of 16 and serves patients in Emergency Department observation, overnight stays, and various surgical cases requiring overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care for adult patients in surgical and telemetry units
Requirements
- At least 24 months of current experience in Medical Surgical with Telemetry, Tele/Telemetry, IMCU, stepdown, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or ARC/Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Valid Iowa or multistate RN license
- Skills checklist specific to the discipline
- Current employment history demonstrating 24 months of relevant experience
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
Required:
- 24 months of current experience in the specified areas
- Active Iowa or multistate RN license
Preferred:
- Previous travel experience
- Recent performance evaluations from supervisory references
Schedule
- Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- Orientation scheduled for 8/31/2026 and 9/8/2026

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
