About the Role

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) on the day shift in Wausau, WI. This position involves providing patient care in a medical-surgical unit, working with adult patients with various conditions such as respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal issues, diabetic management, renal failure, infectious diseases, and acute alcohol withdrawal. The role includes adherence to hospital standards, charting using EPIC, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in a medical-surgical unit for adult patients with conditions including respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal issues, diabetic management, renal failure, infectious diseases, and acute alcohol withdrawal.
  • Adhere to hospital standards and chart using EPIC.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Float to inpatient units as needed.

Requirements

  • WI RN License.
  • BLS from AHA or ARC.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Trauma level II experience highly preferred.
  • EPIC charting experience.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to work independently with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Schedule

  • 12-hour days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 48 hours per week.
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.
  • Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, low census in hour increments (not considered on call).

Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 during the day. Scrub colors are flexible. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times due to policy enforcement.

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
