About the role

Medical Surgical Floor Nurse providing patient care across a variety of general medical-surgical settings. This role requires adaptability and the ability to float across multiple hospital campuses, ensuring comprehensive care for diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in general medical-surgical units, including general, gynecology, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT patient care
• Float across multiple hospital campuses, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran, as required
• Work rotating 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week with flexibility for weekends as scheduled
• Be available for holiday work during Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day unless the unit is closed

Requirements

• Current Iowa state RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Heparin administration experience
• EPIC electronic medical record experience
• Minimum 24 months of patient care experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Must have completed a previous travel contract within the last 24 months (no first-time travelers accepted)

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent or current Level I trauma experience
• Level II trauma experience

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts, 48 hours per week
• Orientation scheduled for 09/28/2026 (fixed date)
• NBO: 16 hours
• 1.15x pay multiplier for holiday work
• 1.5x call-back pay with a minimum of 2 hours
