About the role

Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position in Fargo, ND, providing nursing care to adult patients on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit within a busy, level 1 trauma center. The role includes performing thorough assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit
• Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments
• Administer medications
• Utilize equipment such as EPIC electronic medical records, OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, and more
• Float to all units/locations within Fargo as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license; at least 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting
• BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience with EPIC
• Demonstrate thorough attention to detail and effective communication with team members and patients
• Must include in submission if previously worked for the organization, with an end date at least 6 months prior to the current application date

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Schedule may alternate between days and nights based on unit needs
• Opportunities for self-scheduling

Training

• 8 hours classroom training
• 24 hours of unit training
