About the role
The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position is based on the Medical Surgical floor at a healthcare facility in Hermiston, Oregon. This role involves providing direct, individualized nursing care to adult patients undergoing surgical procedures. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position operates during daytime shifts, requiring quick adaptability and strong clinical skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform general nursing duties across all departments under appropriate supervision
- Assess patient conditions and administer medications
- Monitor vital signs and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Recognize patient rights and responsibilities, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate compassion
- Support the hospital’s mission, vision, and policies
- Participate in required education related to DNV accreditation standards
- May be floated to other departments where qualified
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oregon
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (preferred)
- Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) certification (preferred)
- Previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience (preferred)
- CRASE training (if assignment extends beyond 6 months)
