About the role

Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position located in an inpatient hospital setting. This role involves providing compassionate patient care on a 25-bed unit primarily serving stroke, post-operative, and other medical patients. The position requires adapting to a diverse patient population including stroke, post-operative, wound care, altered mental status, and COPD exacerbations. Excellent communication skills and ability to handle acuity changes are essential.

Schedule

• Day shift, 12-hour shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotations

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed medical-surgical unit
• Perform Neurogenic Stroke Scale Screening (NIHSS)
• Float rotation may be required

Requirements

• Current, appropriate nursing license
• Certification in Neurogenic Stroke Scale Screening (NIHSS)
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week

Preferred Qualifications

• Stroke certification
• Experience on medical-surgical units
• Willingness to work every other weekend and holiday
