About the role
We are seeking a travel nurse RN for a Med Surg unit in Morgantown, West Virginia. The position is a 13-week contract, working 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neuro unit. The unit focuses on neurosciences, including conditions like strokes, seizures, and surgical/postoperative care for spine patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neuro nursing and be proficient with G-tubes. Experience with the EPIC charting system is also required.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients with neurological disorders.
- Monitor and manage patient conditions, including DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators) and stroke recovery.
- Administer medications as per physician orders and protocols.
- Document patient care in EPIC, verifying monitor tech strip readings.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Valid RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (must be in hand at the time of submission).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Strong neuro nursing experience is essential.
- Recent Epic experience required.
Qualifications
Preferred certifications include ACLS and NIHSS.
Skills
Proficiency with G-tubes and EPIC charting system.

Pay & Schedule
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
