Travel Medical-Surgical RN - $1,965 per week

About the role
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse in a facility setting. This role involves providing care to adult and adolescent patients with a variety of diagnoses, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory viruses, and postoperative surgical patients such as orthopedic, general surgery, spinal, and urology cases. The position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on teamwork and proactive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to adult and adolescent patients with diverse medical conditions
- Administer titratable and set rate drips (e.g., Heparin, Bumex, Lasix)
- Manage patient ratios of 1:6 during day shifts and 1:5-6 during nights
- Assist with call lights and bedside shift reports
- Conduct proactive patient rounding
- Float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) for Medical Surgical assignments as needed
- Operate and monitor patient care equipment such as Trachs, Cpap for OSA, Bipap, and High Flow oxygen devices
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- CPI certification
- At least 1 year of Medical Surgical (MS) experience
- Proficiency with EPIC documentation
- Experience with shift reporting
- Comfortable with first-time travel assignments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with telemetry reading
- Experience working with adult and adolescent patients with diverse medical conditions
Schedule
- Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Weekend and holiday work as needed
- Call or standby required on low census or canceled shifts
- No self-scheduling; blocked scheduling may be accommodated
- Unit orientation: 1.5 shifts
- Scrubs: navy blue and provided
