Travel Medical Surgical RN - $1,710 per week

About the role

Travel nurse RN Med Surg position in Spokane, WA. 13‑week assignment, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. Immediate opening for a Medical Surgical RN with 1‑2 years recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and provide appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑operative cases.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements

• Current RN license (implied by discipline).
• BLS certification.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 1 year).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 lbs routinely; moving/lifting patients may require up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
