Travel Medical Surgical RN - $1,678 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Billings, Montana. The position is full‑time travel (36 hours per week, 12‑hour day shifts) and is available immediately. TotalMed RN is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency that places nurses, therapists, pharmacists, and other clinicians across all 50 states, focusing on matching highly‑skilled staff with facilities to ensure adequate staffing and a better patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and provide appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑operative patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.

Requirements

• Active BLS certification.
• Minimum 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (Med/Surg RN).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Capable of bending, leaning, and stooping without difficulty.
• Able to lift 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend (amount to be determined).
