Travel Medical/Surgical RN - $1,614 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts, starting October 5, 2026. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and a current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and provide appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op cases.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.
• Stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for extended periods; lift up to 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds when moving patients.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (1‑2 years recent acute care preferred).
• Ability to meet physical demands (standing, walking, lifting as described).
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
