Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - $2,802 per week

Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana. This is a 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation, requiring 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 available upon request) on 12-hour day shifts (6:30-7). This is a clinical interview position with a strict 40-mile radius rule for local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population including post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients.
• Float as needed: first to float within skillset, with 2-hour notice for cross-campus float; mid-shift float within same campus possible.
• Work three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday.
• Manage remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management.
• Apply strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced 41-bed unit.
• May be required to precept nursing students and new hires (teaching hospital).

Requirements

• Licensure & Certifications: Current active compact license; AHA BLS; NIHSS certification (must be attached upon submittal).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of strong Med/Surg experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment; trauma level II experience required.
• Charting: Recent EPIC experience required (must pass a checkoff class).
• Unit Ratios: Days 1:4-5; Nights 1:6-7.
• Personality: Hard worker, resilient, adaptable to change, and socially engaging.
• No competing health systems or agency logos on scrubs.
• Three call-ins may result in termination.
