Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - $1,785 per week

Medical Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Winchester, Kentucky. The position involves 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts, with every other weekend worked and no call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical‑surgical nursing care on a 36‑bed unit.
• Maintain patient ratios of 5:1 (day) and 6:1 (day) with frequent admissions and discharges.
• Utilize equipment including Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, JP drains, Hemovac drains, ostomy care, NG tubes, tube feeding, and PEG tubes.
• Document care using MedHost EHR.
• Report to supervisor Donna Lane.
• Care for patients aged 18 to geriatric with diagnoses such as total joint replacement, general surgery, COPD, diabetes, dementia, dialysis, stroke, NSTEMI, CHF, and A‑fib.
• Perform IV therapy, NG tube care, PICC & central line care, catheter care, and post‑op surgical care for general surgery, total knee/hip replacement, hernia repair, and colectomy.
• Perform Foley catheter insertion, IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, tube feeding, stroke care, and post‑op care as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience.
• ADN or BSN degree.
• Ability to float to step‑down units as needed.
• Dress code: navy or black scrubs; t‑shirts and Crocs not permitted.

Skills

• Must have: IVs, NGs, PICC & central line care, catheter care, post‑op surgical care for general surgery patients, post‑op care for total knee & hip replacement, hernia repair, colectomy.
• Preferred: Foley catheter insertion, IV insertion, telemetry, tube feeding, stroke care, post‑op care.
