Travel Medical-Surgical Orthopedic Floor RN - $2,210 per week

About the Role

The Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor Nursing position is based in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing care to patients on a medical surgical orthopedic unit, with a focus on joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, and other orthopedic and medical conditions. The position requires a dedicated healthcare professional capable of managing a dynamic and diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with conditions including joint replacements, fractures, COPD exacerbation, cellulitis, sepsis, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and other acute conditions
• Read tele monitors and respond promptly to patient needs
• Perform hourly rounding
• Manage multiple admissions and discharges daily
• Administer medication titrations for heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
• Float to other MedSurg units with the same patient care focus
• Cover weekends and holidays as required

Requirements

• Valid nursing license
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• ACLS (American Heart Association) certification (preferred)

Facility Details

• 55-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Two days of specific unit orientation
• Mechanical lifts available in some rooms
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Team includes nurse aides/patient care techs, tele techs, and charge nurses

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Schedules posted 6 weeks in advance
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling may be considered
• Start date: 08/31/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• RTO Policy: Upfront RTO request with 7 days or less per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
