Job Summary
The role involves providing perioperative care in a specialized surgical environment within a critical access hospital setting. The OR nurse will be responsible for assisting with surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and complying with all clinical protocols.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active/unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BLS (HCP) and Chemotherapy certification necessary
- At least 1 year of experience as an OR nurse with inpatient chemotherapy administration experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Willingness to apply for license if pending certification
- Local Hawaii candidates encouraged to apply
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong perioperative nursing background with ambulatory and oncology experience
- Chemotherapy certification
- Previous travel or Queens Health System experience preferred
Additional Information
- The selected candidate should be comfortable mixing IV medications and performing dose calculations
- The position requires adherence to compliance deadlines, with all elements of documentation due at least 10 days prior to the start date to avoid delays or cancellation
- If not needed as an RN on their primary unit, the nurse may be assigned to a nursing assistant or safety sitter role

Pay Package
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
