Flexibility, adaptability, and effective communication are essential, as the float RN will work across multiple units based on patient and operational needs. Job Details Position Description: Float RN Will be required to float to the medical care unit, post-surgical unit, and intermediate care unit. Within the Registered Nurse (RN) scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, applies the nursing process to patient care, teaches patients and significant others, documents in medical records, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care effectively. Demonstrates flexibility, prioritization skills, and the ability to adapt to rapidly-changing patient and unit needs. Demonstrates effective teaching skills and responds effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations. Maintains regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned location. Flexibility in accepting assignments to varied areas; maintains a friendly, helpful attitude. Required Qualifications: Recent hospital experience (within past 5 years), 2 years of Medical Surgical experience, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), Oregon license (willing to obtain if not active), COVID vaccination (not required at this time), Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications: None specified. Additional Information: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs, and show effective teaching skills.
