Job Description
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a 26-week travel assignment in Bethel, Alaska. The role involves performing routine and moderately complex laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry, hematology, and immunology, ensuring accuracy of test results, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Requirements
- One year of recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician
- Valid license when needed in compliance with any state regulations
- Preferred National certification through ASCP or equivalent such as AMT, AAB, HEW certifications
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Qualifications
- Summary: The Medical Laboratory Technician assists in performing routine and moderately complex laboratory tests across multiple diagnostic areas, including chemistry, hematology, and immunology.
- Essential Work Functions: Perform routine diagnostic laboratory tests, prepare and process specimens, ensure accuracy and reliability of test results, follow quality control protocols, operate and maintain laboratory instruments, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, communicate test results, maintain detailed and accurate records, assist with inventory management, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Required Essential Skills: Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/write/communicate in the English language; ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills; physical abilities to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend; interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary); technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment; mental requirements to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; sensory to possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
