Travel Medical Assistant

About the Role

Travel Medical Assistant position covering clinics within the region to assist with call-outs and vacations.

Responsibilities

• Proper intake of patients, including history and chief complaint
• Documenting during exams using our EMR system
• Assisting with medical procedures such as suture removal, administering local anesthetic, applying patches for allergy testing, and transcribing reaction strengths
• Delivering patient education and documentation on disease, wound care, medications, and pathology reports/diagnosis
• Conducting prior authorizations for medications and sending prescriptions to pharmacies as directed by the provider
• Scheduling follow-up appointments at the end of each exam
• Responding to patient messages within 24 hours
• Ensuring start-of-day and end-of-day tasks are completed
• Completing all duties in accordance with HIPAA and other medical regulations
• Other duties as assigned
