The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a rural healthcare setting. This position requires teamwork, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. Unit Information Unit: Med/Tele - K3 Unit Type: Telemetry Number of Beds: 25 Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse Shift Details Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Schedule: Day shift (7 am - 7 pm), every other weekend and holidays required Floating Requirements: May float to other med/surg units and possibly to PCU for Tele holds prior to transfer Patient Care Responsibilities The Registered Nurse will be responsible for: Caring for patients with common diagnoses such as congestive heart failure (CHF), diabetes, pneumonia (PNA), and chronic kidney disease (CKD) Titrating Heparin drips; RN's must be able to read telemetry strips Collaborating with Charge Nurse, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators when needed Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 18 months of recent Med/Tele experience Certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification preferred Skills: Strong communication, time management, and teamwork abilities; rural hospital experience preferred Work Environment This position operates within a Med/Tele unit featuring a team that is accustomed to working with travelers and has established leadership in place. The unit relies heavily on being adaptable to meet the needs of the patient community.
