This position requires a strong team player willing to work hard and contribute to the care of patients. Job Details Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week or 36/48 hours bi-weekly Bed Count: 25 Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 5-6:1 Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality patient care on the Med/Tele unit. Manage a variety of patient diagnoses, including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and medical/surgical telemetry. Monitor patients and read telemetry strips, with tele monitor techs available for support. Float to all medical/surgical units and possibly to the Progressive Care Unit for telemetry holds prior to transfer. Shift & Scheduling 12-hour shifts with scheduling determined by unit management. Block scheduling is not accommodated; travelers are scheduled based on facility needs. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. Qualifications 18+ months of recent Med/Tele experience preferred. Required certifications: BLS, ACLS. Rural hospital experience is preferred. Excellent communication and time management skills. Additional Information Nurse Aides (PCTs) are present with a ratio of 12:1. Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow patients is preferred. Unit orientation includes two shadow shifts. Charting is done through the Paragon system, with a transition to EPIC planned for October 2026.
