About the role

Travel RN assignment in a 90-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit (2 West) at a Level I or Level II Trauma hospital in Yuma, Arizona. Weekly hours: 36 (48-hour guarantees not available).

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: Days (6:45 AM–7:15 PM) or Nights (6:45 PM–7:15 AM)
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• Typically work 2 of 3 major holidays
• May be placed on low-census on-call
• Floating required to Med Surg units, stable low-acuity ICU patients, and Renal Dialysis Unit (RDU)/clinic as needed
• 100-mile radius rule applies; start dates are not flexible; no blocked scheduling requests; maximum of 5 days of RTO
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Orientation: Hospital orientation, Epic/clinical education, and one unit orientation shift

Responsibilities

• Care for patient ratios of 1:5–6 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Manage common patient populations: pneumonia, COPD, acute kidney injury (AKI), radiation/oncology patients, occasional post-op laparoscopic cholecystectomy and appendectomy patients
• Administer non-titrated heparin and Lasix infusions
• Care for stable tracheostomy patients
• Manage BiPAP patients
• Monitor telemetry (interpretation handled by dedicated monitor technicians)

Requirements

• 2+ years of RN experience
• 1+ year of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma hospital
• Recent Epic EMR experience
• BLS (required)
• ACLS (preferred)
