Travel Med Surg RN - Medical Stroke - $2,269 per week

About the role

Travel Nurse RN – Med Surg (Telemetry) for a hospital contract in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This is a 13‑week travel assignment with a start date of ASAP, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret strips accurately.
• Provide patient care for post‑cardiac caths, CHF, COPD, and arrhythmia management.
• Titrate Heparin drips and assist with high‑flow and support therapies such as BiPAP & CPAP when necessary.
• Complete admissions and discharges efficiently while collaborating with team members.
• Maintain a fast‑paced environment with up to 12 discharges and admissions daily.

Requirements

• BLS & ACLS certifications.
• Ability to read cardiac strips; comfortable with post‑heart caths, CHF, COPD, post‑pacers (no external pacers), medical management or waiting for CABG consult, and arrhythmias.
• Must be able to titrate Heparin (Cardizem & Amiodarone are not titrated).
• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts, self‑scheduling, and accommodated block schedule.
• Availability to work every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed.
• Float ability within hospital units, including ICU & Step‑down, with patients within skill set.
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs; no hoodies or sweat‑jackets.
• Training: 1 day computer training, 1 day shadowing, then independent practice.

Schedule

• 12‑hour shifts (07:00 – 19:30 or 19:00 – 07:30).
• 36 hours per week, 13‑week contract.
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed.
• Float assignments within hospital units, including ICU and Step‑down.

Pay

Pay range: $2,171.56 – $2,280.14 (based on 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours/week). Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
