TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Morgantown, West Virginia. The position is for 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Candidates should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑operative patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report any adverse reactions.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.
- Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions.
- Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered.
- Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (1–2 years preferred).
- Additional certifications may be required before assignment start.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds easily; patient handling may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
Schedule
- 12‑hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- 13‑week contract duration
Pay
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
