Travel Med Surg RN - $1,764 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Henderson, North Carolina. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

Requirements

• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience (approximately 1.5 years).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; Shift: 12 hours, days.
