Travel Med Surg RN - $1,596 per week

About the role

We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Chattanooga, TN. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient
• Educate patients on surgical procedures
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Physical demands

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
• Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative

Schedule

12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, 13-week duration.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
