Schedule
- Shift: Nights, 1900-0730
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (must be indicated on submission form)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility/every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
Requirements
- Current RN License (Meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri or currently licensed in the state of Missouri)
- BLS and ACLS from AHA only
- 1 year tele or cardiac tele experience
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 32
- Patient Ratios: varies; nights 1:6-1:8 (estimates, not guarantees)
- Equipment: Lift equipment, bladder scanner, interpreter iPad, BiPAP monitoring
- EMR: EPIC
Responsibilities
- Reading telemetry
- Working with CHF, chest pain, renal, hemodialysis patients
- Managing Amio and Cardizem drips
- Handling central lines (HD caths, Ports, PICCs)
- Potential for dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, milrinone drips
- Managing chest tubes and other drains
- Implementing CIWA (withdrawal) protocol
- Caring for overflow patients: sepsis, urology, surgical, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, GI bleeds
- Floating to similar or lower acuity units as needed
Skills
Must Have
- 1 year Tele or Cardiac Tele experience (inpatient only)
- ACLS certification
- Experience with CHF, chest pain, renal, hemodialysis patients
- Ability to read telemetry
- Experience with Amio and Cardizem drips
- Experience with central lines (HD caths, Ports, PICCs)
Preferred
- Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation
- Experience with dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, milrinone drips
- Experience with chest tubes and other drains
- CIWA (withdrawal) protocol experience
Patient Population
- CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (mostly AFib, flutter, SVT)
- Respiratory, renal, hemodialysis patients
- Overflow patients: sepsis, urology, surgical, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, GI bleeds

Dress Code
- Scrub Color: Tops and pants both black; tops must have “Mercy” cross logo on the left chest
- Undershirts/long-sleeve shirts allowed in black, white, yellow, green, red, and blue
- New t-shirts coming September 1
- Medical/scrub jackets permitted
- Unacceptable attire: Anything other than above
Auto Offer Guidelines
- Flexible Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours (must be listed on submission form)
- Blocked Scheduling (no specific days) may be approved based on facility requirements (must be listed on submission form)
- RTO of 5 days or less must make up the week on the back end
- Holiday RTO: Can request only 1 per assignment
- Auto Offers are contingent upon facility approval; offer may be retracted within 48 hours by the facility
- Night shift orients on day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation
