About the role

This is a 22 to 26-week travel contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Med/Surg, with a flexible end date extending into January. The role is full-time, requiring 3x12-hour shifts per week, with additional on-call shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening and analysis.
• Create individualized, culturally relevant plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Promote and protect patient rights, safety, and health.
• Provide education to patients and families to facilitate self-care post-hospitalization.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practice and engage in self-evaluation for continual professional development.
• Create a healing environment by building trusting relationships with patients and families.
• Administer medications and interventions safely and effectively.
• Develop specialized skills in medical conditions for adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only).
• NIHSS certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse in a Med/Surg environment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
