About the role

Acute Med/Surg Registered Nurse - Contract Position. This is a 13-week contract position with full-time hours (36 hours per week) on a rotating 12-hour day/night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient and family assessments using active listening and analysis of information.
• Create individualized, culturally relevant plans of care addressing identified health problems.
• Set patient goals in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care and adjust plans as needed based on patient response.
• Educate patients and families on self-care and lifestyle changes for health support; document education provided and patient/family responses.
• Foster teamwork and cooperation among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain competencies required for the specific patient population.
• Develop specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.
• Accountable for patient and family education to assist with self-care beyond hospitalization.

Requirements

• NYS RN Licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• 2 years of med-surg experience as a Registered Nurse

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Contract and local rates may vary based on location and applicant residency.
