Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Unit details
- Unit: 28 Med Surg beds + 22 overflow beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Shift: Days (6:30 AM–7:00 PM) or Nights (6:30 PM–7:00 AM)
- Charge nurse available
- CNA ratio approximately 1:10
- Monitor tech available
- Heparin, IV antibiotics, anticoagulants, and narcotic infusions – no titratable drips
- Self-scheduling
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Float to PCU and Behavioral Health (McDermott) as needed
Required experience
- Med Surg experience required
- Orthopedic patient care experience preferred
- Able to care for: total joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders), fractures, COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, pneumonia, oncology, dementia, IV antibiotic therapy
Certifications
- AHA BLS (Required)
Submission requirements
- Minimum 50-mile radius from facility (verified using driver's license)
- Driver's license required at submission
- Cannot currently be Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility (within the past year)
- RTO must be submitted upfront (no additional RTO after submission)
- Artificial nails are prohibited
- Open-book competency exam during orientation – must score 90% or higher or contract will be terminated
- Prescreen + Auto Offer position
