Travel Med Surg ICU RN - $2,110 per week

About the Role

TotalMed RN is seeking an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse for an immediate travel nursing opening in Omaha, Nebraska. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with a schedule of 36 hours per week (12‑hour day shifts). Candidates should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care to critically ill patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report any adverse reactions.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Collect specimens for lab work, order corresponding labs, and interpret results.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing.
• Communicate patients’ conditions to family members, including education and support for long‑term care needs.
• Delegate tasks to other care providers as appropriate.
• Meet physical demands: stand/walk for extended periods, bend, lean, stoop; lift 20 lb routinely and up to 50 lb when moving patients.
• Work in environments with potential exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases; manage patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment start

Pay & Schedule

Pay package based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
