Job Summary

The Ultrasonographer General is needed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to assist radiologists in performing invasive and non-invasive maternal fetal ultrasound procedures. The position focuses on standardizing practices, training residents, and conducting detailed maternal-fetal examinations, including advanced diagnostic techniques such as 3D/4D imaging and fetal echocardiograms.

Job Details

• Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent certificate program;
• three (3) years of experience performing complex obstetrics and gynecology or vascular scans;
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification;
• must be registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in OB and OB GYN.

Additional Information

• The technologist will perform essential maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations including detailed anatomical evaluation, complete fetal echocardiogram, growth assessments, fetal wellbeing assessments (biophysical profiles, maternal/fetal Doppler, amniotic fluid assessments), needle procedure guidance, examinations of maternal pelvic anatomy (including transvaginal cervical assessment), and advanced diagnostic 3D/4D techniques.
• The role involves analyzing sonography findings, assisting with invasive procedures, and providing preliminary results to the radiologist and referring obstetric provider.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
