Travel LTAC Med Surg Tele RN - $2,310 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel Registered Nurse for an immediate opening in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility in Columbia, South Carolina. This is a 13-week travel nursing position with 48 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts. As an RN in LTAC, you will care for patients with serious medical conditions who require extended hospital-level care, including those with complex needs such as ventilator support, wound care, or post-ICU recovery.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer IV medications, manage central lines, and monitor vital signs and lab results
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care, as well as advanced wound management
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and case managers for ongoing treatment plans
• Support patients with mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs, ensuring proper patient care delivery
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and facility safety standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate patient status updates
• Document all care activities and interventions accurately and in real time
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning

Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience as an RN in a Long-Term Acute Care or similar high acuity setting
• Current BLS certification
• Eligible for State licensure
• ACLS and NIH certifications required (additional certifications may be required before beginning assignment)
• Adaptable, highly skilled in critical care practices, and passionate about supporting patients through complex and prolonged recovery
