Responsibilities

• Provide extended care to patients living with disabilities or suffering from progressive or chronic illnesses, including the elderly and others needing assistance with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing).
• Record vital signs and administer medications.
• Assess changes in patient’s health status and perform various treatments.
• Complete assignments made by physicians and provide routine treatment.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of medication and treatment administration to maintain continuity of care among nursing staff, physicians, and other treatment team members.
• Be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions due to the broad range of medical conditions encountered in long-term care.

Requirements

• Active RN License or Active LPN License.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS Certification.
• Eighteen months of recent experience in a Long-Term Care setting.
• Additional requirements may be determined by the client’s facility.
