About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees in a supportive and safe environment, promoting the wellness of both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, creating individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
- Utilize the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, focusing on education.
- Initiate discharge planning upon admission and educate patients accordingly.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively to support continuity of care and patient safety.
- Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate positively in team-building and contribute to the unit's effective functioning.
- Assume charge responsibilities as required, coordinating unit activities.
Requirements
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (for specific facility).
- A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
