Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for a diabetic student on a school bus and at school during the assignment
- Monitor blood glucose levels and deliver diabetes care/medication administration per the student’s plan
- Recognize and respond to diabetes-related emergencies following established protocols
- Collaborate with school staff, bus personnel, and health services to ensure continuity of care
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and student responses in the appropriate records
- Maintain infection control standards and patient privacy in both onsite and mobile settings
Requirements
- Active Washington LPN license (WA LPN)
- Local candidates only
- Ability to work in a school-based, mobile (bus) care environment
- Clinical focus: diabetes care/management in a school/bus setting (preferred)
- Education: graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; current licensure to practice in Washington
- Eligible to provide care in a pediatric/school setting and comply with school district policies
