About the role
Froedtert Health is seeking a travel EEG Technologist Level II for a 13-week assignment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
- Preparing patients for a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures, including routine EEG, EMG, long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, Neuro Interventional radiology WADA, and PET.
- Accurate measurement and application of electrodes according to the International 10-20 System.
- Gathering comprehensive patient histories and documenting relevant information.
- Explaining test procedures to patients and their families.
- Recognizing medical contraindications for activation procedures.
- Preparing testing supplies, exam rooms, and neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Implementing alternative methods or adjusting controls to obtain optimal recordings.
- Observing and training for advanced procedures such as EMG, EVP, autonomics, intraoperative monitoring (IOM), WADA, and PET.
- Triaging software error messages, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues.
- Reviewing and clipping EMU and continuous EEG files according to laboratory standards.
Requirements
- 2 years of Level II EEG Technologist experience.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent within 90 days of hire.
- Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) in a minimum of 1 of the following: Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (EEG), Registered Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing (EMG/NCV), Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP), Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM), Registered Evoked Potential Technologist.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalography and Evoked Potentials (ABRET).
- Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of proven experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician, experience with nerve conduction velocity testing, autonomics, long-term monitoring, evoked potentials, and magnetoencephalography, and being registered by ABRET in one or more of the specified areas.
