About the role

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in the state of Maine. The assignment involves working in a Level III Nursery with approximately 200 births per year. The RN will provide care across all phases of labor, postpartum, and neonatal care within an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) setting, supporting both low and high-risk patients.

The role requires a proactive and experienced healthcare professional capable of managing various labor and postpartum complications, including postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and neonatal concerns such as bilirubin issues, NAS, and well baby care.

Responsibilities

The Nurse will work in a non-telemetry setting with a patient ratio consistent with AWHONN guidelines: 1:2 in labor, 1:1 in active labor, 1:2-3 for postpartum couplets, and 1:2-3 for med-surg patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in labor and postpartum care, including experience with all phases of labor, postpartum care, well babies, and neonatal interventions.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, STABLE (to be completed within 30 days of start)
  • Experience with shoulder dystocia, epidural management, nitrous oxide, intrathecal spinal analgesia, neonatal care including VS, thermoregulation, hypoglycemia, bilirubin management, NAS, and support during C-sections for neonatal purposes.
  • Fluency in handling obstetric emergencies, neonatal care, and high-risk conditions is essential.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

12 hours, days, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026 for a duration of 8 weeks.
