About the role

This Labor and Delivery Department Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The role involves providing high-quality care for labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal patients. The RN will be responsible for caring for mothers and newborns, including antepartum, delivery, and nursery care, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their shift.

Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Minimum of 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide care for labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal patients
• Float to the medical floor or emergency room as needed, assisting with basic tasks without taking a patient load
• Adhere to AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratio
• Use computerized charting, Pyxis medication system, central electronic fetal monitoring, and Alaris IV pumps

Requirements

• Wyoming State nurse license or a compact license
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D), postpartum, and special care nursery
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring from AWHONN
• No visible tattoos; body jewelry must be removed during work hours
• Local radius restriction of 50 miles applies; external candidates preferred

Additional Information

• Two-day orientation focusing on Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, workflow, and supplies
• Unit comprises 3 labor and delivery rooms, 5 postpartum rooms, 4 triage rooms, a recovery area, and an operating room suite
• No call requirements at this time; possible changes if department needs arise
• Department provides scrubs
